Cyhi Da Prynce Meet & Greet Wednesday 1/11 at 7PM!

Come meet G.O.O.D. Music recording artist Cyhi Da Prynce this Wednesday 1/11 from 7-8PM at Motivation! Cyhi will be in the building signing autographs, talking with fans, and taking pictures.

Motivation x Burn Rubber 'American Dream' T-Shirts Releasing Friday!

We linked up with our friends and fellow Michigan boutique Burn Rubber for this special 'American Dream' collaboration t-shirt! It releases tomorrow, Friday November 4th, at both our retail location and Burn Rubber's retail location. The meaning behind the design is simply what we both represent - Independence. Self Made. The American Dream. Two colorways representing both of our cities are available - one based on the Detroit Redwings and one on the University of Michigan Wolverines. Only 40 of each colorway were produced, so don't snooze!

Today, October 24th, marks our official 4 year anniversary of being in business here at Motivation! We opened the doors to our retail location in 2007 and have grown immensely since then. Motivation & Dope Couture in Las Vegas for the Tradeshows!

We will be out in Las Vegas along with our friends from Dope Couture from August 22nd-24th premiering our Spring 2012 line out of a private suite at the Mandalay Bay! For Spring we are adding some classic custom cut & sew t-shirts to our lineup of graphic tees, fleece, and headwear (one is pictured below). New Brand at Motivation: Supra

After some time in the works, we brought in to Motivation one of the staple sneaker brands out right now - Supra! Our first delivery arrived about 3-4 weeks ago, and is the Skytop III, which is the third incarnation of their signature model of Chad Muska-endorsed sneakers. We have it in two different colorways and materials (suede and nubuck), either of which will go well with anything.  They feature a lot of great technical aspects as well as looking great, so stop by if you want to check them out, try one on, or purchase!

Pusha T Live in Detroit (Heineken x G.O.O.D. Music Red Star Access)

As promised, although a bit late, are a couple of videos I was able to get from the Heineken x G.O.O.D. Music event at the Majestic. The first video up features Pusha T's verses off Kanye's So Appalled and Clipse's Popular Demand (Popeye's). The second is Pusha's Open Your Eyes off the Fear of God mixtape. I had one more, but the sound quality was horrendous. Regardless, hopefully everyone who wasn't able to attend enjoys seeing these...and goes out and catches Pusha T/Clipse next time they come through MI!

Heineken x G.O.O.D. Music Detroit Red Star Access Recap

Last night I had the privilege of attending the Heineken x G.O.O.D. Music Red Star Access event, featuring sets by CyHi da Prynce and Pusha T, both of Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label. Heineken held the event at Detroit's Majestic Theatre, pic below, and they did an extremely good job of giving the event an intimate feel to it. I definitely felt like a VIP - a big thank you to Cliff Skighwalker for the invite!


First to take the stage was CyHi da Prynce. I've gotta be honest, I hadn't checked him out before this event (that I knew of), and I haven't heard many people around here dropping his name. However, I'm pretty sure everyone's heard his verse on Kanye's "So Appalled," which he performed last night. After seeing him perform last night, I'm definitely going to recommend everyone check him out - Kanye definitely has the ear for talent. In addition, he was rocking the Dope Logo tank top by our friends over at Dope Couture.


After the DJ set/intermission, Pusha T took command of the stage. He definitely knows how to put on a great live set. Most of the tracks he performed were off the Fear of God mixtape, but he also threw his verse from "So Appalled" into the mix. I really don't know what else to say here other than to go see him live if you get the chance!


I wasn't able to get any other real clear/in focus pictures of his set (besides the one above), but check back with us in a couple days for a few videos that Im going to upload from his set! Thanks again to Heineken and Cliff for a great event!

Retail Location CLOSED Today! (Sunday July 24th)
