After some time in the works, we brought in to Motivation one of the staple sneaker brands out right now - Supra! Our first delivery arrived about 3-4 weeks ago, and is the Skytop III, which is the third incarnation of their signature model of Chad Muska-endorsed sneakers. We have it in two different colorways and materials (suede and nubuck), either of which will go well with anything. They feature a lot of great technical aspects as well as looking great, so stop by if you want to check them out, try one on, or purchase!

Pusha T Live in Detroit (Heineken x G.O.O.D. Music Red Star Access)

As promised, although a bit late, are a couple of videos I was able to get from the Heineken x G.O.O.D. Music event at the Majestic. The first video up features Pusha T's verses off Kanye's So Appalled and Clipse's Popular Demand (Popeye's). The second is Pusha's Open Your Eyes off the Fear of God mixtape. I had one more, but the sound quality was horrendous. Regardless, hopefully everyone who wasn't able to attend enjoys seeing these...and goes out and catches Pusha T/Clipse next time they come through MI!

Heineken x G.O.O.D. Music Detroit Red Star Access Recap

Last night I had the privilege of attending the Heineken x G.O.O.D. Music Red Star Access event, featuring sets by CyHi da Prynce and Pusha T, both of Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label. Heineken held the event at Detroit's Majestic Theatre, pic below, and they did an extremely good job of giving the event an intimate feel to it. I definitely felt like a VIP - a big thank you to Cliff Skighwalker for the invite!

First to take the stage was CyHi da Prynce. I've gotta be honest, I hadn't checked him out before this event (that I knew of), and I haven't heard many people around here dropping his name. However, I'm pretty sure everyone's heard his verse on Kanye's "So Appalled," which he performed last night. After seeing him perform last night, I'm definitely going to recommend everyone check him out - Kanye definitely has the ear for talent. In addition, he was rocking the Dope Logo tank top by our friends over at Dope Couture.

After the DJ set/intermission, Pusha T took command of the stage. He definitely knows how to put on a great live set. Most of the tracks he performed were off the Fear of God mixtape, but he also threw his verse from "So Appalled" into the mix. I really don't know what else to say here other than to go see him live if you get the chance!

I wasn't able to get any other real clear/in focus pictures of his set (besides the one above), but check back with us in a couple days for a few videos that Im going to upload from his set! Thanks again to Heineken and Cliff for a great event!

Just a heads up everyone - our fam P.L. will be on MTV's hit show MADE premiering tomorrow, Thursday June 23rd, at 4PM! (East Coast Time - otherwise check local listings)

P.L. was chosen to be a MADE coach and teach a young high school girl how to rap. The episode was filmed earlier this year in Ann Arbor (the girl attends Pioneer High School), and they also filmed a scene in our store which may or may not make the final cut. Either way tune in to see P.L. represent our brand throughout the episode and to see how good a MADE coach he really is, ha!

If you haven't heard of Boldy James, you just might want to start paying attention. We have been bumping his first online mixtape release, Trappers Alley: Pro's & Con's a lot lately at the store -- and the best part is he is a product of Detroit. He is related to Chuck Inglish (of the Cool Kids), who produced a lot of the mixtape and he very well could be the next artist to blow up on the national scene out of Michigan. His lyrics are a lot more hardcore than most artists and he spits about growing up and his experiences in Detroit throughout the mixtape. The production on the mixtape is also top-notch. Cincinnati Sneaker Showcase This Saturday June 11th!

This Saturday June 11th, 2011 is the 4th Annual Cincy Sneaker Showcase in Cincinnati, OH! It is one of the Midwest's largest sneaker shows and past shows have featured some of the rarest sneakers in the game on top of a bunch of selling and trading sneakers. The best part is that all proceeds are for charity and benefit the Shining Star AAU program, which is a program that mentors children and young adults through the game of basketball.

Many big names and collectors in the sneaker world will be in attendance/exhibiting, including us at Motiviation! We will have a table there and will have items from our Spring/Summer line that were not available at our Cincinnati stockist, Corporate. If you are there, make sure to stop by. Also if you are thinking about taking the trip from Ann Arbor, the drive is about 3.5 hours long and all information can be found below!

Motivation Diamond Mascot Snapback Hats Releasing FRIDAY!

We will be releasing another new style of our Spring Motivation headwear this Friday, May 27th called the Diamond Mascot snapback hat! These hats are 5-panel snapbacks and their design is based off of the classic vintage sports snapbacks that were produced in the early 1990s. They are available in two colorways, one in our classic Motivation Red and Black colorway, and one in University of Michigan colors. The hats retail at $32 each and will be available starting this Friday at our retail location and also on our Online Store. Here at Motivation we just got in another delivery from 10.Deep -- their official 2nd Spring delivery -- and it consists of tees, light-weight button ups, and New Eras. The Sticker Attack tee is back, and there's also a couple more graphic tees, but the focus of this drop is definitely on the cut and sew pieces - the Sailing Stripe and Atlantic Henley shirts are both great choices for the coming warm weather. Motivation Spring 2011 Collection Delivery 2 Lookbook + Release Information

The second delivery of our Motivation Spring 2011 collection is releasing TODAY in-store and will be available TOMORROW (Saturday April 23rd) on our Online Store! It will also be arriving at our stockists this week and next. This delivery consists entirely of t-shirts, with over 30 new designs to choose from.

Just like the first delivery that we released about a month ago, most of the designs in this delivery tie back to our the Cheaters theme -- whatever it takes to get ahead! Along with our Motivation Spring 2011 t-shirts, we will also be releasing this Black/Charcoal/Gray New Era 'Ornate M' fitted hat this Friday April 22nd! It is an all black hat with various charcoal and gray accents throughout -- and it also features a vintage green under-brim. This is your new everyday hat as it can go with anything. It especially matches well with the recently released Pewter Nike Foamposites, as the gray parts shimmer in the light. This Sunday, April 10th we will be having another one of our famous Meet & Greet events at Motivation with rappers Big K.R.I.T., Smoke DZA, and Freddie Gibbs! The event is from 5PM - 7PM in-store. They are all in Ann Arbor as a part of K.R.I.T.'s Return of 4eva Tour and will also be performing later that night at the Blind Pig.

Before the concert, come meet them all at Motivation, where they will be signing autographs, taking pictures, and meeting fans! Of course we will also have refreshments provided by our friends at RedBull. We hope to see you there, and remember to bring your camera!

Air Jordan 12 Low "Taxi" Retro

In the event you haven't already heard, here's a reminder that the Jordan 12 Low "Taxi" colorway is set to retro in just over a week. This shoe hasn't been seen since 2004, and I think it's pretty safe to say that the 12 is one of the top Jordan models of all time...but you can make the call there.
